East 82nd Street Facade

Town House East 82nd Street.

The building which is in a landmark district and contained two apartments on each floor was gutted to create a three bedroom duplex for the owner on the fourth and fifth floor, a two bedroom apartment on the second and third floor, and medical offices on the first floor and in the basement.

The owners are art collectors who entertain frequently which is reflected in the living room floor where rooms are kept fluid and yet defined by their proportions and different ceiling heights. An art gallery connects the living room with the dining room. The ceiling was removed in the dining room for a skylight with cove lighting which makes it a soaring, festive space for entertaining.
